Tokyo Police Club

posted by Adam on June 1, 2008

When I first heard these guys, I thought it was Colin Meloy’s side dance rock project. Not exactly in line with what I thought were his sonic proclivities, but people can change. Turns out it’s some Ontarians, but they can definitely rock.

You’re not kidding, he does sound like Colin Meloy.

These guys opened for Weezer oct 2nd here in Chicago and I’m not sure they’re built for the arena stages yet. I love them but the crowd that was there for Weezer and Angels & Airwaves weren’t as grateful.

In any case, check out the track ‘In A Cave.’

Tokyo Police Club is my favourite band. My favourite song is either Citizens of Tomorrow or Cheer It On, both off their EP A Lesson in Crime. and I saw them open for Weezer in Toronto and it made me sad that I was the only one there to see just them.
