Little Joy
Little Joy includes some familiar indie rock names: Fabrizio Moretti, drummer for The Strokes, female vocalist Binki Shapiro, and Los Hermanos singer/guitarist Rodrigo Amarante. In 2007, this trio moved into a house in Echo Park, L.A. to write and play music, later to be recorded for their self-titled debut in 2008. The band’s upbeat rhythms, perfect harmonies, and catchy 1950’s tinted melodies result in nearly flawless—and completely addictive—indie pop songs. A perfect example of the trio’s simple but seamless style is the track “The Next Time Around.” Don’t be surprised if this tune sticks in your head for days.
