Yesterday was sunny and cool. Spring-but-requires-a-hat weather. You’re not antsy, exactly. You’re just expecting some warmth. Or maybe you like the chill, but the sun’s throwing you. Like it shouldn’t come out until it’s good and ready to have something to show for it. Today was much better: a sky befitting the cool. A sky that admits that the jig is up and that, no, there will be no short sleeves today either. So get cozy and admire the new leaves, little bursts against a murky background. And put on the latest Deerhunter record, Microcastle. With its warm layers of sound and harmonizing vocals to wrap you up and bright little spots of noise to perk you up, Nothing Ever Happened is a blanket and cup of coffee in one.
Dr. Glass is lurky and on 2007′s very aptly named Flourescent Grey EP. Indeed.
