Red Light Company

posted by Rachel on April 25, 2009

Red Light Company is a great new-ish band making fun britpop music. They are a 5-piece band working out of London with band members coming from the far reaches of Wyoming (after responding to an ad) and a bunch of other continents. Great move for the band as they were named one of the hottest bands in NME.

RLC’s second single ‘Meccano’ is one of those pop songs you swear you’ve heard a dozen times. The chorus is dangerously catchy and encourages you to sing along. And the beat guarantees you’ll be bouncing your head in no time. ‘Alamo’ is destined to become uber popular. It’s beat-happy and highly danceable. For great lyrics and an all around brilliant tune, also check out ‘Scheme Eugene’ – “Hanging out with Scheme Eugene/And blame the broken social scene/What you don’t have you won’t miss it when you’re gone”.

The album is hard not to love upon first listen. So why fight it?

Love Red Light Company! I was trying to find bands similar to them and I came across this new band from Liverpool called Sound of Guns, don’t know if you’ve heard of them. I’d really recommend them, their music is wicked. Their new album is out this month. Here is their official site, check it out! -
