Paul & The Patients are soon to release the second album on New York’s American Myth Recordings (Lissy Trullie’s debut was the first.) They focus on dark melodic tones that create a brooding dissonance with a listener while the track itself is propelled forward by the happy guitars. The new EP, To The Lions, is the perfect amalgamation of spotty drunken nights and “how did I get here” mornings. Lead singer Paul Holmes sounds like he’s singing from a shower down the hall further adding to the mood. The five tracks were written and recorded in five days from Holmes’ bedroom. Even if you’re not the hungover on Sunday morning type, you’ll find something to enjoy with Paul and the Patients, “Complaint 15” should do the trick.
