Time to slow it down a bit. Sometimes it’s not about speed of the music or how it makes you want to move your body with the rhythm. It’s just about listening to something that sounds really really good. I feel this way abut Angus and Julia Stone. It’s the type of music you can listen to any time of the day or any day of the week. No matter what, the outcome of their music will make you feel will be positive. Need I say more? Of course I will. This brother and sister team are out of Australia. Both Angus and Julia originally started out as solo acts occasionally using the other for back ups. Then one day the old cliche kicked in “Two heads are better than one” and thus became the band they are today. Listen to their lyrics and see for yourself just how talented this duo is. It’s not about a terrible childhood or bad break ups…it’s just great words and music that go together. To see them perform the first thing that runs through your head is “man their really good”. The type of band you want to see at a local bar on a singer songwriter night. It’s that acoustic guitar that just draws you in which lets face it, sometimes can be a bit too mellow for a band. But Angus and Julia Stone have got it just right and keep me listening. Check out their latest cd released in January of this year “A book like This”.
