Do you know what your iPod is missing? Some Hungarian indie-pop glam rock, that’s what. Budapest’s The Moog throw a few different genre’s together to end up with their unique blend of rock. With huge hooks on songs like “You Raised A Vampire” and “Panic“ from their sophomore effort, Razzmataz Orfeum, due out July 21 on MuSick Recordings, I can safely say they’re one of Hungary’s biggest pop bands. Previous generations were sheltered to the Western culture due to Soviet rule but The Moog grew up with MTV and the bands that were featured on it.
The best part of The Moog are Gergo Dorozsmai’s tight booming drums and Adi Bajor and Miguel Gyorgy’s meandering guitars that help to evoke the feelings and moods that lead singer Tonyo Szabo paints with his tongue.
Make sure you check out key tracks “You Raised A Vampire” and “When I See You” off their new album.

What, isn’t Szabo Csaba important at all? This review mentions everyone in the band *except for* the bassist. Who, incidentally, happens to have the most epic hair. It has it’s own fanclub.
