Rogue Wave
Sometimes it’s just nice to cover a band that you know people have actually heard. It’s that band you here in a bar, a TV commercial, or in a music store overhead and you think..”oh that’s who this is…I love this song”. I chose this band because someone utters those words every time I hear them. Headed by Zach Schwartz (A.K.A. Zach Rogue), Rogue Wave has a soft alternative/Indie edge. After losing his dot-com gig, Zach created a band that to me doesn’t get enough recognition. You have to respect a guy who gets knocked down and gets right back up again and succeeds at that. Zach’s voice puts me in a melancholy type mood. At the same time, it also releases a positive energy that’s palpable in the air. If your a fan of The Shins sound, you’ll enjoy Rogue Wave. Although they haven’t really released anything new recently, the band is working hard on a new sound and new album to be released early 2010. I know that seems so far way but Rome wasn’t built in a day either. I have no doubt the new album will be well worth the wait and the band will tour again shortly after its released. Keep an eye out should they come to your town.

saw them open for jack johnson and then for death cab for cutie. great music and seemingly great guys too.
