The Wave Pictures

I’ve frequently fallen prey to the debilitating syndrome of wanting to pick up every adorable and witty Brit and put him in my aptly sized theoretical pocket. Frontman David Tattersall of England’s The Wave Pictures is no exception (see the band live for the full effect of said witticisms). Tattersall’s amusing lyrics and earnest guitar, combined with the talent of Franic Rozycki on bass and Jonny Helm on drums, create instantaneous harmony that is successfully captured on their third album, If You Leave it Alone.

The Wave Pictures is like that rare person you meet while sipping your [insert drink of choice], who seems real, who seems to have depth and who has more than just something interesting to say. Someone who surprisingly holds your attention the next day when the [insert drink of choice] has worn off and you have to have an unadulterated conversation.

Check out the new album (starting with the tracks provided here, Leave It Alone and Tiny Craters in the Sand). Listen to the first two albums if you haven’t done so already. If that’s not enough, check out their Springsteen covers. Indie Springsteen, what more can I say.
