Bell Horses

The folksy indie pop Bell Horses perform would not usually be something I find myself listening to over and over again. After listening to ‘Still Life’ once however, I became hooked and can’t get enough of it. The track is damn catchy. Featuring vocals from Jenny Owen Youngs, who in places sounds very similar to Florence Welch, ‘Still Life’ breezes through two and a half minutes with a mix of electro and folk backing thanks to Xian Hawkins. The mix of the vocals and music are an odd combination which on their own may be lacking, but together compliment each other completely.
The band, who release ‘This Loves Last Time’ on October 13th already have a great array of tracks at their disposal which should form the basis of a great debut album. Tracks such as ‘Small Hours’ and ‘The Comb’ are on a par with the standard of ‘Still Life’.
