Mumford & Sons

Winter is quickly approaching, the days are getting shorter and the nights longer. It’s that time of the year where you want to be curled up in front of an open log fire deeply engrossed in a book with some gentle acoustic folk music playing in the background.
Cue Mumford & Sons.
The band are part of an uprising of folk music coming from London recently. Acquaintances with acts such as Noah & The Whale and Laura Marling the band have also recently been supporting The Maccabees on tour. You can hear influences from all of these artists in the bands material.
The band have recently released both their debut album and single, both of which did pretty well commercially here in the UK. Mumford & Sons’ album ‘Sigh No More’ managed to hit number 11 in the UK album charts while debut single ‘Little Lion Man’, which you can listen to below, received a large amount of airplay.

This is really great…sounds a bit like Frightened Rabbit, but with a much fuller sound. Love the folk influence.
