Visqueen

posted by Tina on April 28, 2010

Coming to you out of Seattle, WA, let’s talk about Visqueen. When I first heard this band, I immediately liked them. I give credit to any female front band that can carry on a great rhythm and vibe. Rachel Flotard rocks it out and her voice is music to my ears. I can hear influences of musical artist Neko Case and why not? Rachel helped Neko out with her last album Middle Cyclone. Although Neko’s voice is a little more country and Rachel’s a little more rock n roll, they are both of equal measure. Rachels last album’s songs were written with heartfelt emotions which is why the album is so great. As everyone knows, your best writing comes from deep within after you’ve had some sort of life changing moment in your life. That works for lyrics and music. And it works for Visqueen.
