New Zealand has been keeping The Phoenix Foundation under wraps for quite awhile now, but something tells me the secret is out. Buffalo, the Wellington band’s fourth full-length album, was released last April in NZ but will be hitting the UK and Europe on January 24.
Listening to the title track as well as “Pot”, I imagine the montage of a sunny day well spent. Their melodic airiness could be akin to bands like Surfer Blood, but formed in 1997, The Phoenix Foundation has had more time to refine their sound. While their tour isn’t stopping in the U.S. next month, here’s hoping The Phoenix Foundation is exported this way soon.
