COUNTDOWN TO SXSW: Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

{SXSW is less than a month away. Whether or not you will be in Austin, TX in March, the Countdown to SXSW series should hopefully get you excited about the fantastic artists who will be performing this year. And maybe convince you to come. And if you like what you hear below, be sure to check the full schedule at the SXSW link above for info on when you can see Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.}

When you hear music that makes you tap your feet or shake your hips no matter where you are (trust me on this one), it’s definitely worth shouting about. And this is exactly what happened when a friend introduced me to Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

A fellow Brit like myself, TEED possesses the awkwardness of a lot of indie-dance bands making rounds on the circuit at the moment, but also screams cool in an almost Lady Gaga way. From the video of “Household Goods”, the song I have selected for you all to listen to on repeat (trust me on this too), you will see exactly what I mean; the off centre camera angles and his awkward dancing almost juxtapose the catchiness of what you’re listening to. And when the beat drops after TEED’s lyrics, expressing love in different forms, I honestly dare you not to at least tap your toes. It’s a song I can picture being played at indie discos throughout the land, a guaranteed floor filler on any DJ’s playlist.

TEED is supporting Darwin Deez on his upcoming tour, as well as doing dates in Germany, America and Canada. With a growing fanbase and such talent, there’s nothing extinct about this boy.
